She came into the kitchen in her school lanyard and looked at him once.
"You didn't sleep."
"No."
"Is it the app?" She put the kettle on. She did not ask in the way that people do when they want a short answer. She waited, with her back to him, in a way that made it easier.
He told her. All of it: the email, the page, the clock. When he finished she turned around, with her arms folded, the way she did when a student had broken something in the lab and was about to explain.
"Have you told the users?"
"Not yet. I don't know what to say."
"You say what's true," said Neha. "You say it fast. And you don't say it until you know it's true, but you don't wait a week either." She poured the tea. "What's the first thing you can do that makes it stop?"
He stared at her. "Turn it off."
"Then do that," she said, "before you do anything else. And then come eat."
