The bookstore opens, with a reader that turns pages · Pulse Beat
The Books page is now laid out like a bookstore, and chapters open in a paged reader instead of a long scroll.
The Books page is now laid out like a bookstore, and chapters open in a paged reader instead of a long scroll.
A book has its own page with a cover, the number of chapters, a reading-time estimate and a contents list. The reader remembers where you stopped, on your own device only, and lets you change the text size, the typeface and the paper colour. You turn pages by swiping, tapping the sides, pressing the arrow keys or using the buttons at the bottom; the contents button jumps to any chapter.
When a chapter ends, the page folds into a paper boat and the next chapter arrives.
A shelf you can look at
The top of the Books page is a library: books standing on a wooden shelf. Each is drawn in three dimensions, and the one under your pointer slides out to show its cover. A book's thickness follows its number of chapters.
